Simple to build, easy to clean, versatile: this table has everything going for it! Whether in the crafts room, the family room, your child’s bedroom or the laundry room, it is a great and useful addition to the home.

Duration
Less than 2 hours
Difficulty
Materials
  • 1"-thick melamine panel, 24" x 48"
  • 1 piece of 1" x 3" wood, cut to a length of 44"
  • Pre-glued melamine edge banding: 1 piece 48" long and 2 pieces 24" long
  • 2 metal legs
  • 2 table-leg brackets
  • Glue
More
Tools
  • Screws
  • Brackets
  • Drill or screwdriver
  • Jigsaw
  • Circular saw
More

Steps:

  1. Cut a piece of 1"-inch thick melamine panel to measure 24" wide by 48" long.
  2. Stick pre-glued melamine edge banding to what will be the three outer edges of the table top.
  3. Use brackets to fasten the 44" length of 1" x 3" board under the back edge of the table so you can secure it to the wall (see step 6).
  4. Position and screw the two leg brackets to the underside of the table top, at each front corner.
  5. Screw the two metal legs into the brackets.
  6. Fasten the table to the wall with screws.

Affordable and easy to work with, melamine is also easy to clean. However, if you prefer a more natural look, use wood or particleboard that you can stain or varnish.
