Referring to designer Jolyon Yates’s own words: “An ODE is a lyrical poem that pays respect to that which inspires it”. His product, better yet his work, is stamped with this idea which explains the name ODEChair.

Jolyon Yates is a designer that truly personifies the 21st century. Endowed with an ecological consciousness, therefore respectful of the environment, he has decided to work harmoniously with the latter by creating “chairs” that are sculpted in untreated wood, an integral part of the creative process, and which serves to define the product’s identity.

For example, when he chooses birch for the Stingray Stool, he wants to pay homage to the nobility of this strong and majestic tree.

As for the Leaf Stool, it is reminiscent of spring when trees come into leaves; entirely made of wood, it looks like a leaf.

The simplicity of the work with its refined lines is amazing. Whether you look at chairs, stools or any other work signed by Jolyon Yates, the pieces meld perfectly into the decor as though they have always been part of it.

Even if his chairs are a perfect element of decoration, Jolyon Yates has not forgotten that they also need to be functional. At a time when product relevance is utterly important, the English designer puts the idea into practice.

ODEChair is therefore representative of its era, a modern and daring design that echoes consumers’ environmental concerns.
