With names like Sweet Lilac, Tangerine Tango, Solar Power, Cockatoo, Bellflower and Margarita, it's clear that the bright and happy colours we are seeing on the runway and in fashion magazines will also be finding their way into our home decor this season. However, for those who can't get enough of tried and true neutrals, Pantone also has a few other equally beautiful new arrivals, including Starfish, Sodalite Blue and Driftwood.

Add a touch of dynamism to your decor with to the following combinations:

The orange and plum colour palette can be fun and bold or surprisingly soft, as seen in these two room inspirations.

Pantone suggests a combination of Sweet Lilac, Margarita and Driftwood. The mauve and fresh greens give life to an otherwise neutral bedroom.

While deep blue tones invoke a sense of coziness, the gold accents brighten up these rooms and add a regal quality.

These next two inspiration rooms show how a neutral shade with a single accent tone can be an easy and simple way for anyone to start playing with colour. Here, aqua was chosen, although just about any bright colour, from pink to orange or plum, would also have worked well in these spaces.

Hot pink and sea-foam blue can be a great combination for any decor, whether sophisticated, glamorous or vintage.
