Spring 2012 fashion collections are out in force in a broad palette of colours, boldly setting the tone for the season at hand. At once soft, audacious, romantic and energetic, these trends also inspired the following ideas on how to rejuvenate your decor with a colourful spring makeover!

Yellow

One of the most popular colours this season, yellow radiates light and vivacity. Paler shades will act to illuminate and expand a room while purer colours accent and liven the decor. Combine yellow with cool tones, such as grey, to transform the atmosphere from lively to lavish. Create contrasts by adding a touch of black here and there, or take the classic approach with whites and creams.

Tangerine tango

Named 2012 Colour of the Year by Pantone, this flamboyant shade exudes vitality, elegance and creativity, enough to make even classic reds and oranges almost green with envy! Versatile and striking, this colour will complement a variety of decors, from classic to modern. It also blends well with blues, greens and light yellows as well as blacks, greys and browns.

Green

Green is making a spring entrance in a panoply of shades, from vivid, to apple, to turquoise! This haute couture favorite is just as well suited to dress up your walls, furniture and accessories in a unique and compelling style. While green has traditionally evoked nature and hope, it also has the ability to unify the ambiance and optimize the surrounding decor.

Pastel

A must for spring, pastels are the epitome of softness and harmony. To avoid a candied look when combining colours, use a maximum of three shades. Delicately integrate the pastels on a white background.
