How to choose the right accessories to pair with your walls?

"I purchased two Eco Paint colours: Blue Planet and Honey. I painted the living room in Blue Planet and the master bedroom in Honey. When I finished painting, I realized that I didn't know which colours to use for things like pillows and accessories. Can you give me some ideas?"

Lucky for you the paint colours you chose are classic and provide a wide range of options when it comes to adding personality and colour with decorative elements, such as textiles, accessories and accent furniture.

Because blue is a cool tone, look for warmer colours to accessorize with. To make the room feel cozier, add colours of sand, grey and brown along with creamy whites to keep the space from feeling too heavy.

For a fresher, more modern look, add pops of hot, bold colours such as orange or fuchsia. A heavier piece like a chocolate brown coffee table or a dark-stained bookcase will make the room feel more sophisticated.

As for your bedroom, add colourful accents and accessories. Since you obviously like blue, why not add some cool ocean-coloured bedding and an area rug?

Since the bedroom is a restful place, another option would be to go for a simple monochromatic palette. Layer the same tones as your wall colour, only in different textures and finishes to keep it interesting. Be sure to have at least a couple of darker elements, such as black nightstands or art, to help ground the bed.
