It is possible to change the style of your kitchen cabinets without replacing them completely. If your cabinet frames are sturdy and in good shape, simply replacing the doors can be a low cost and time saving kitchen renovation!

If your cupboard doors are solid wood but are worn, old and stained,  a good sanding, primer and paint job can add a fresh bold look and update your kitchen instantly. Here is some advice to guide your next renovations

The Look

The current style of your home can help determine your choice of cupboard finish; traditional, vintage or perhaps a sleek modern look, to create a perfect harmony with the rest of your home.

The Lighting

To help you narrow down your search,  think about how much lighting the space gets. If there are little to no windows, select from white or light coloured wood finishes. If you have a large amount of light, you can consider varnishing your cabinets with a dark color

The Textures

Another helpful tip is to think about how much wood you already have in the space. If your dining set, counter stools and kitchen flooring are all wood, you may want to choose a finish that is a completely different for your cabinetry, such as a creamy off white. Too many wood tones can sometimes overwhelm a space.

The Replacement

Armed with your cupboard measurements, purchasing replacement doors to fit your decorating style is easier than you might think.  There are many designs, colours, materials, and doorknobs to choose from to coordinate with your kitchen's new look.
