Using the right colour can achieve a bathroom design that is both stylish and well suited to the particular space. Here, the focus will be on two main types of bathrooms: the powder room and the ensuite. Adapting the decoration with regards to the people and their use of the bathroom will create two rooms with distinct ambiance.

Black and white designs create a bold, high contrast statement. The bathrooms below play upon this particular design trend. Notice how the ensuite uses a more subtle version of the black and white theme, whereas the powder room showcases a busier pattern.

The powder room provides the perfect opportunity to use a dark colour or dramatic pattern due to its short time spans and frequent use.

Neutral, light coloured paint tones are a classic ensuite bathroom trend. Ensuites are often a 'busy' space, with many products and items used in daily living. Patterns are therefore a less favourable choice. Nevertheless, neutral colours create a relaxed, soft aura and evoke a fresh, clean feeling.

Bright colours are a great choice for dynamic bathroom designs. Bright colours add vibrancy and fun to the morning routine. Bright blues, yellows, coral and turquoise are popping up in recent bathroom trends and can be accessorized in a multitude of ways, creating unique, personalized designs.
