Some restaurants stand out thanks to their dining rooms that invite you to spend long hours in good company. Recreate this atmosphere at home using a few key elements.

This approach requires some level of reflection and lots of research on decorative elements in order to create harmony between the decor of the dining room and the rest of the home. Here are a few tips to create a memorable room inspired by the dining rooms of the finest restaurants.

Harmony

To avoid that your dining room starts looking like a theater set, delineate a specific area for it. Make sure that it all doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb. The style must be in perfect harmony with the rest of your home.

Avoid mixing two styles that don't match, like a 50’s-style dining room in a baroque-inspired home. You may come to regret this choice deeply in 5 or 10 years. You should always consider the longevity of your renovation or decoration project before you undertake it, so think harmony, harmony and harmony!

Choice

Once you've determined your style, go all out just like the refined restaurants. Combine chairs of all styles with the table: heterogeneous, bright colours or sober tones. Use the walls and possibly even the ceilings to create your environment. Have huge images printed, add dynamic colours with paint or go wild with wood or mirrors. Everything you can imagine is possible, as long as it remains harmonious with your home.

Comfort

Comfort is key. Make sure that staying in the dining room is pleasant, even after the meal. Consider including comfortable chairs and booths and even sofas!

Lightning

Determine the different types of luminosity according to the required light in the room as well as the space. Chose certain elements that can be showcased using a specific lighting.

To really bring the room together as one inspired by fine dining, consider playing background music to create a five-star ambiance!
