Turn your old shed into an elegant one!
To avoid major renovations, regular maintenance of your shed should be done. Roof leaks, window cracks, gaps in wood, and peeling paint should all be repaired and door hinges and locks should be regularly checked. Prevent water damage by making sure your shed is on a raised solid foundation and keep gutters clear to keep water flowing away from the shed.
A splash of paint can work wonders, so let your imagination run wild. Stripes will give your shed a funky beach hut look; while dark wood stains and rattan blinds provide a natural touch. We’ve seen sheds painted black and decorated to resemble Asian palaces, sheds with additional porches and with shuttered windows that look like summerhouses, and even sheds decked out like Wild West saloons. Sheds can be inspired, too!

Installing shelving and work surfaces will make your shed more functional, especially if you plan on using it as a workshop. Electricity is always a plus, especially when it comes to heat and light, but we’ve even seen some sheds that are self-sufficient thanks to solar power.
Landscaping will make your shed stand out, so think about laying a path to the door, adding pots to flank the entrance or installing window boxes or troughs filled with flowers to add colour. Make sure to take care of your flowers, they will give your layout a healthy look with a touch dynamism.
