On my way back from buying a new lawn mower, I was surprised to see that, on the first warm day of summer, all of my neighbours had their garage doors open.
Everyone was doing some type of yard work, putting together playsets for their kids or cleaning around the house. It made me want to do the same: to open my garage door and get some fresh air circulating after the long winter, and to take advantage of the change in season to rethink that space, how I want to use it and how it’s organized.
Walking through the aisles at RONA gave me some ideas on how to reinvent this space. Since the garage is a room that is often neglected in terms of renovation and decoration, I’ve long overlooked its potential. But now, I finally want to use it as an extension of my home. No more piles of junk and piled up boxes. This year, my garage will be a convenient and organized space where I can work on my craft projects!
To start, I installed a work table and new stylish shelves to save some space. I also put up some sliding doors in front of my hubby’s tools to forget that he also has a workspace for his DIY projects. With this type of storage arrangement, everything that was cluttering our garage is now stored in its own place, which has freed up enough space in our garage to create our own individual work areas.
Whether you keep your car, bikes, snow blower or lawn mower in the garage, or whether you like crafts like me or prefer gardening, exercising or sports, or even if you have a hobby that requires a room of its own, our RONA experts can help. They’ll have plenty of ideas and tips, and can show you a variety of storage solutions to meet your needs.
